If these "palaver"of kenyan chess continues unchecked we could as well consider re-instating the formerly ROBUST Rodrigo administration.

The reason behind these re-instatement is to reactivate some chess activity & the very many chess tournaments for everyone-including the many seniors who look like they are starting to loose touch with real world of chessmania.

Why don't these guys just kick out all the seniors from the Olymp team and replace them with Juniors???

I'll make sure you get your receipt. Respect is not what drives me in CK. I just no longer consider serving senior chessers a "worthy course". At least i get a "thank you" when i make a very small donation to a beggar on the streets. Senior chessers give you a kick in the a*s and slap me with more demands..albeit most of them being well-off. I'll quit CK if and when chess in schools program fails. I don't give a rats a*s anymore.

It would simply go against the truth in Kenyan chess if ANYONE joined the youth committee. It represents most of what is evil about chess in this country. It is the committee that has totally ensured that Kenya did not see a junior break through the top senior ranks. It represents eveything congambitish. This parent you talked to probably has a kid who plays utterly shit chess and will continue playing utterly shit chess for the rest of his/her life.

I have found out more info. about the tournament last week for kids
attracted a total of 130 kids. The top eight from each age group will then
go into the next round.
Entry fee - Ksh 1000 for membership and Ksh 700 for the event. (yes pick up
your jaw from the floor!!). no lunch snacks provided.
Income - Kshs 91k

I just bumped into Fred in the westy neighbourhood. Cordial short meeting with him. Away from chess he is much more affable. Therefore he should abandon CK exec duties as it is messing his respectibility. Kim, he gave me your receipt. Strangely, I have not rcvd mine!!!

Harold I believe I will have made a major step toward legitimising my spot on the national squad if I achieve a top 5 finish in Kampala. I believe that is going to be a difficult task and I will have to play like never before. But am up for the challenge. That said Kenyans better beware....none of us might make even the top 15 spots the way these Ugandans are improving!!

Kim what are you talking about....by mid next month I am hoping to confirm a sponsor who can put up 100-200k for 3-4 Ug vs Kenya matches!! And I hope that will just be the 'warm up'!!! Your 20k for a domestic venture would be a good start. Maybe a double round robin over two weekends at gymkhana where all the current team members play the Olympiad veterans or "kim's select". I want to completely demolish these veteran guys.....

I had promised to give you a story of hockey last week when I met an old friend of my dads.
I met Surjit Singh about two weeks ago and after greeting each other he enquired about my surname and I told him whose son I was. When he realised who I was he told me that my late dad was a very good friend of his and that he had come to my place many times when I was a small kid.
