I think Shikuku on the 'bench' answered for all chessers who don't wanna pay up CK membership. He was talking about something else but it seemed all so close to what is happening in chess. Things he said hit home.

Me too...the only reason I want Singe too qualify is because Singe has the best camera skills!!! I intend to invest in a Kim Bhari 'look alike' camera around June jul when I visit a 'foreign destination', specifically for the olympiad...but what use if there is no cameraman to use it!!!!!!

What prompted me to go check out the link I was sent showing Loo-rules corresponding whilst claiming zone presidency in 2009 (it got me confused as well as I thought Ambasi was confirmed in dresden too) was when another 'forum pal' in the diaspora (not kenya or UG) said loo-rules was zone prezzo?!?!?! Guess will have to go check the minutes of the dresden assembly...this is too confusing....

Time limit of 20 mins flat per player. That's fast for a rapid!! I want to change my prognosis. If it was 25 mins then I would have had dolf as favourite. But even 5 minutes less changes things. Singe is the fastest player in the field. Plus he's been practising 'bleez'. Together with dolf I put him as favourite. I am checking in at 9pm sharp...popcorn and all. This is going to be a cracker.

Even I support what Rod did for Kenyan chess. Far more effective than what came after.
100% supporter of positive developments in chess. Do I need to state the facts all over again???

Ambasi was elected as Zone 4.2 president in Dresden.

I am of the opinion that most of the players I mingle with, if given half the chance, would also pocket money once they get into office. They are indisciplined and susceptible to the carrot dangling K-side attack. Give them a whiff of the tritonite gravy and you wont know the difference between Congambit and Con-patzer. This is a fact. I even think that the reason some players in the past campaigned for the likes of Loo-rules and Ambushy was simply because they expected that once their man got into office he would do something for them. Besides expecting more tornas etc there must have also been an anticipation of some sweeter things. Maybe not in the direct sense of 'pocketing stuffing' but in other more roundabout ways. I will make no bones about it, some of the players are hard up and I think they see a CK office as a means to an end. I have always believed that the people you elect reflect who you are as a person. Elect Congambit, Ambushy or Loo-rules, campaign for them, and understand there exists an element of them in yourself. You get the leaders you asked for in short.

It's a good idea. Just what I had in mind. As long as people like the gen sec don't but in with requests like '10%' it can work. You only need 4 guys. There is a brilliant organisational mind in the form of Kim, a steady honest hand like George, and despite what you may think your 'friend' Githinji is pretty industrious and I have a Marlboro pack of hallucinogens. To be honest not many seniors have the self-initiative to apply themselves. These four guys would be enough. If you give us a free hand we can shut up all these complaints of the seniors...it's basically lack of meaningful chess activity that brings out the parrot in them. The only prob I see is our esteemed gen sec. He's gotta but off, keep his nose out, stick to his tritonites and let us do our job. We can't have him smooth talking initially that "no problem, do as you please" then down the line he does a 180 degree turn......This man is the one sticking point. If he can stay out then it can work.

Interesting, your list has only two names, and you're not even part of it. I
won't be in CK for long, i believe anyone who does not progress(role-wise)
after five years lacks ambition.
But i won't leave my office to a day dreamer who thinks people will walk out
and leave an office for him. Get into the ring and fight.
